Can we feed a growing population without adversely impacting the environment? By 2050 we’ll need to feed 2 million more people without increasing emissions. During our day on campus we’ll be examining if this is achievable.

We’ll start our day by greeting you with a fresh cup of sustainable coffee. Did you know that global coffee farmers only get a fraction of the price from our morning coffee? Through Yara’s Coffee Champions program, we are happy to bring you coffee that protects the environment, pays the farmer a fair price, and tastes even better than your normal coffee.

With that backdrop, we invite you to a session on how we can improve food systems globally, and whether it’s possible for consumers to influence positive change? By 2050, it is estimated that we will be about 9.8 billion people on earth, and the need for enough, nutritious, and sustainable food will be enormous.

After the first session we hope you’ll feel inspired – and we want to reap the benefits of that inspiration. That’s why we are asking: What would you do as CEO of Yara? Join us for this interactive session and find out how your ideas could impact our business.

The future of food requires us to think differently. Through three Ted-like “YaraTalks”, we take a look at how collaborations across the food chain, from soil to supermarket can improve food systems, and we ask whether we can pay farmers to produce food and store C02 in their soils, and whether sewage can actually be a source of valuable nutrients.

To round off the day, we invite you to join us for a dinner at Restaurant Troll where delicious, sustainable, and locally sourced dishes will be served.

Green tickets will be handed out on the day of the event. Join our sessions and stands to get the chance to win tickets for the dinner.

We are always looking for new ideas and bright minds to help us solve some of the world’s biggest challenges, so don’t hesitate to come speak with us. We are so excited to come to Trondheim and meet you!

About Yara

Yara grows knowledge to responsibly feed the world and protect the planet. Supporting our vision of a world without hunger and a planet respected, we pursue a strategy of sustainable value growth, promoting climate-friendly crop nutrition and zero-emission energy solutions. Yara’s ambition is focused on growing a climate positive food future that creates value for our customers, shareholders and society at large and delivers a more sustainable food value chain.

To achieve our ambition, we have taken the lead in developing digital farming tools for precision farming, and work closely with partners throughout the food value chain to improve the efficiency and sustainability of food production. Through our focus on clean ammonia production, we aim to enable the hydrogen economy, driving a green transition of shipping, fertilizer production and other energy intensive industries.

Founded in 1905 to solve the emerging famine in Europe, Yara has established a unique position as the industry’s only global crop nutrition company. We operate an integrated business model with around 17,000 employees and operations in over 60 countries, with a proven track record of strong returns. In 2020, Yara reported revenues of USD 11.6 billion.
